Markers
Arrows and symbols at the vertices of a line
The Markers panel
For paths, lines, polylines and polygons. Three dashed zones:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Start | the marker on the first vertex |
| Middle | the marker on every vertex that is not an end, rotated along the bisector |
| End | the marker on the last vertex |
You assign a marker by dragging it from the Markers resource panel onto a zone; the × next to it removes it. Each time, one step.
Creating one
Draw the symbol, select it and choose right-click menu › Create resource › Create marker. The marker's origin — the point that sits on the vertex — is the center of the bounding box, and the marker orients itself along the line. Right after that you enter it to edit it.
The Marker panel
Inside a marker (double-click its cell in Markers):
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Orient | auto (follows the line), auto start reverse (reversed at the start: an arrow pointing outward at both ends), angle with the angle typed next to it |
| Units | stroke width (the marker scales with the stroke width) or user space |
Nothing else: the point that sits on the vertex is the marker's origin, and you position the content for real, by drawing it around the origin crosshair.
