Insert-edit text tool

To insert an SVG text element in the SVG document, click to define the point of origin, move the mouse, and click again to complete the drawing operation.

Click on the text to edit and/or select the contained text.
(Double click to enter in edit mode with selection pointer)

The text inside the text box wraps automatically when it reaches the limit of the length of the text box.

Press the "ESC" key to exit drawing mode.

This tool can be activated via the keyboard by pressing the "T" key.

The "Text" inspector panel shows the properties of a SVG text box or the properties of a selected portion of text.

Properties: Font Family name, Variants style, Font size, Letter spacing, Word Spacing, Height of the text line.
The checkbox "Rich text" defines whether the text contained in the text box should be plain text or "Rich text", i.e. with the possibility of applying different styles.

To convert the text to path select "Convert to Path" from object menu.
